I am not a person who generally provides reviews but this particular one deserved a real shout out. I have engaged with Darryl twice with regard to issues with my furnace and am so impressed with his professionalism and know-how.

Darryl is a Certified Professional who saved me from getting scammed. It was just two months that I moved to a new house that my furnace started giving problem. Big names in the field, quoted a heavy prices for repairs and recommended getting my furnace changed. This unexpected expense was too stressful for me, so I decided to get a second opinion. I got Darryl’s reference from a Whitby Community WhatsApp group. He paid a visit to my home the very next day. He was very respectful, calm in his gestures, technically sound, explained me the issue patiently and provided various solutions and recommendations. He only charged a nominal fee to fix these issues. I never had any problem with my furnace since then.

The other time, my wife suspected a chemical smell in the house and called Daryl to confirm if something was wrong with the furnace. It was a Sunday evening, yet Daryl turned up quickly to inspect the furnace and assured us that everything was working fine. He didn’t even charge us for this visit. I was so amazed by his customer service and skills that I decided to provide this review based on an opportunity for me to give back to the community and express my gratitude to Darryl. In a world where you may get scammed easily, it was a great relief to know that we have found a professional to count on.

If anyone is facing an issue with the furnaces, talking to him won’t hurt. You will certainly end up learning what is best for you.

Excellent, excellent service from Darryl!

I called bright early because our home was not heating and Whitby temperature was -16!

He came out within an hour of me calling.  He diagnosed the problem, fixed it and went the extra mile to look over everything including our humidifier and adjust and clean whatever was needed.  He also made recommendations to maximize our efficiency.

I am very big on customer service.  These days, it’s hard to come by.  I was beyond impressed and very thankful for their service and all that Darryl did.  Sharpe Advantage deserves the 5 stars and then some.  Thank you so very much! My family won’t feel the freeze tonight!!

I was in a desperate situation.  Everyone was can’t help you till next day.  Some even tried selling insurance.

Sharpe showed up in a couple hours.  Banged out the work and gave me the best price in town.

They were clean and courteous and very friendly.

After a long day I came home and the house was freezing cold to find out the house was at 16c got Darryl’s number through a referral, called him and he showed up within minutes of the phone call and fixed the issue within minutes as well.

Has amazing customer service, knows what he’s doing, will definitely refer him for anyone in the Durham region and now I know who to call next time.

Darryl was at our home 10 minutes after I called to report the furnace not working. He diagnosed the problem, went to Toronto to get the part and was back 2 hours later where we luxuriated in the heat. Would use him again without question.

I called Daryl few days ago about performing a maintenance on the water heater I had. Daryl showed up on time can called me before he came.

He informed me upon looking at the unit that he would caution against performing work on it due to the age of the unit (roughly 20 years old). I asked him what he would do if he were in my shoes he said he would just leave the unit be because he cannot say what will happen if we start working on it.

Then he took a look at the humidifier for the furnace and made sure it was working and showed me how to replace the filter.

He said he wanted to earn the business the right way so he didn’t charge me for the call.

I will be sure to contact Daryl and Sharpe advantage next time I need any work done to my furnace or water heater. Thanks Daryl!

Excellent service. Called for emergency furnace repair late on a Saturday night in December.  The repairman was at our home within the hour and had the furnace fixed and running in a few minutes.

Will definitely call again.

Our 15 year old furnace broke down suddenly and Daryl was able to come to our house within 20 minutes, assess the situation and we agreed that the best course of action was to install a new furnace. He was able to return 12 hours later and in less than 2 hours had us up and running with a great new furnace much to our relief, outstanding service!

Called my previous furnace repair place, they made an appointment for me today at 3:00 pm when I called at 3:40 they informed me that there was an emergency and they could not come today, having no heat in my home which I informed them was also an emergency, they said they could bring heaters and come back tomorrow.

I immediately said no I would find someone else! I called Darryl at Sharper Advantage and he said he would be here today at 7:00 pm but he would call me when he was 1/2 hour away, he called at 6:00 pm and was here at 6:15, fixed my furnace within 10 minutes and the invoice was very reasonable!

Called Darryl late yesterday afternoon after being given the run around by the big companies. Darryl showed up right when he said he would this morning and had my air conditioner up and running in 10 minutes! I’ll definitely be giving him my business if any other issues arise

Most honest company I have every dealt with. They are were very professional. I just bought my house and called Enbridge to come in to service the furnace.  When they came out they red-tagged the furnace for the safety of my family.

Of course I was desperate in getting a furnace. I have a little one here. So I started calling and asking friends. I got quotes for 4300-5000, but was told it depends on what else would need to be done.

Other companies offered payment plans at 70 dollars a month for 15 years. I can’t believe they are allowed to do that.

But this company was honest and they had it installed within two hours, and there were more issues but even with that I still paid under the price that other companies offered.

Tonight we are warm and safe.

Daryl was able to come fix my gas leak within hours on boxing day. Very professional and friendly, he took the time to check all of my systems and show me how to use them after the repair was complete. I will only use him for any gas/heating/AC repairs or installations going forward, and I recommend everyone to do the same!

Professional, thorough, and efficient! Darrell came over to maintain my furnace, and he was extremely thorough. Once the work was done, he gave me a detailed review of what was involved and how I could maintain the unit until the next time it needed the full review.

Fabulous service. Had an emergency, phoned him at 8am, furnace was broken, temperature was 58 degrees. He was here within an hour, half hour later furnace was repaired. Price for the emergency work was great. Would definitely recommend him.

Wow! Within an hour or so, Daryl came after hours when my 87 year old father’s furnace stopped working.

The furnace was old, and repairable. But we opted to have it replaced.
